N/A Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
AA Degree or passing score on parapro examination or 60 hours of college credit.
Experience and/or training with students (prefer experience with students or adults with disabilities).
Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
Ability to present information to individual students and to groups of students.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of appropriate techniques and strategies for exceptional students.
Other Skills:
Ability to work as a team member, to serve as a role model and to keep confidential information about students confidential.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, and bend at the neck.
The employee frequently assists in lifting or other physical management of students and may assist in toileting or feeding students.
Employee must be capable of lifting/carrying 50 lbs.

Job Goal:
To assist teacher(s) of students with disabilities in achieving IEP and ESE program goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Maintains ethical behavior, professionalism, confidentiality of information, and work standards at the level equal to that expected of licensed professionals.
2.
Assists with the teacher's and the school's disciplinary procedures as necessary.
3.
Participates in:
(a) daily/weekly planning and preparation with teacher(s); (b) ESE in-service training and program meetings; (c) faculty meetings when requested by the principal.
4.
Serves as a resource to the ESE teacher(s) or the substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular ESE teacher.
5.
Supervises students while en route to and from school on buses as assigned.
6.
Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of content or skill initially introduced by the teacher.
7.
Assists the teacher(s) in devising and implementing special strategies, materials, activities, schedules, bulletin boards, centers, etc.
8.
Performs record-keeping duties (attendance, reproducing, distribution, collection and scoring of papers, collecting and recording of money, behavior charting, lunch counts, etc.
).
9.
Performs other routines as required.
These may include:
escorting, toileting, which may involve diaper changing, feeding, positioning, clean-up, assisting clean-up, assisting in fire drills, field trips, assemblies, play periods and lifting of students with physical disabilities.
10.
Provides appropriate medical procedures in accordance with Florida Statutes 1006.

11.
Provides operation and care for equipment.
12.
Works cooperatively with the ESE teacher(s) and follows specific responsibilities and structure as assigned by the teacher(s).
13.
May be assigned exclusively to students as a one-on-one as indicated in the student's IEP or Section 504 Accommodation Plan.
14.
Abides by and facilitates adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, polices, procedures; maintains, professional standards; maintains high level of professional development/knowledge.
15.
Other such duties as may be:
(1) temporarily and/or sporadically performed as assigned by the supervisor and/or the superintendent, (2) permanently reassigned and specific changes in duties noted.
Salary:
Based on the adopted salary schedule for Support Personnel Pay Grade I.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy and State laws.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
