Non-exempt Summary Under direct supervision performs the installation, repair and maintenance of water lines, reclaimed water lines, gravity sewer lines, wastewater force mains and their appurtenances owned by Destin Water Users, Inc.
Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Coordinates daily work schedule with the Field Crew Leader.
Learns to install, repair, and maintain pressure mains for water, sewer and reclaim systems, including service lines.
Learns to install, repair, and maintain gravity sewer mains and manholes.
Learns to install, repair, and maintain valves, valve boxes, hydrants, and other appurtenances.
Learns to install new and/or replacement meters.
Learns to operate and helps maintains heavy construction equipment, vehicles, tools, safety devices and safety equipment, ensuring safe operation.
Learns company software programs for work orders, services requests, and preventative maintenance.
Performs general housekeeping duties to include vehicle cleaning, shop, and work site cleanup.
Communicates well with coworkers, customers, vendors, and management.
Performs on call duty as assigned after all training is complete.
Assists other company personnel as required and scheduled through the Field Operations Supervisor and/or Field Operations Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications High school diploma or a general education degree (GED) from the American Council on Education or Florida Department of Education.
Must obtain a Level 3 Water Distribution License within 2 years of hire.
Must be available for after hours and weekend on call duty after training.
Must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
